Imperial Wavelength Guide

Choosing Your Light

Every wavelength does a different job.

Your panel doesn't just glow — it's tuned across nine calibrated wavelengths, each one chosen for how deep it travels and what it does once it gets there. Here's what each one is actually for.

480nm — visible 1060nm — invisible
0.5–2mm · surface only
  • Breaks down acne-causing bacteria through porphyrin reaction
  • Helps regulate excess oil production at the skin's surface
  • Supports natural circadian signaling
  • Best used in short bursts — overexposure can cause oxidative stress
Intensity
5–15 mW/cm²
Session
2–4 min
Targets
Porphyrins, bacteria
1–3mm · epidermis
  • Calms redness and inflammation at the surface
  • Evens out skin tone and helps balance pigmentation
  • Supports lymphatic drainage close to the surface
  • Gentle enough for sensitive or reactive skin
Intensity
15–30 mW/cm²
Session
3–6 min
Targets
Surface tissue, lymph
3–5mm · dermis
  • Works on the skin's surface layer and capillary network
  • Triggers collagen production in dermal fibroblasts
  • Speeds up healing of minor wounds and scarring
Intensity
25–50 mW/cm²
Session
5–10 min
Targets
Cytochrome c oxidase
5–10mm · deep dermis
  • Goes deeper than 630nm, with a stronger collagen response
  • Calms inflammation at the dermal layer
  • Improves microcirculation, evens out skin tone
Intensity
25–80 mW/cm²
Session
8–15 min
Targets
Cytochrome c oxidase
8–12mm · dermis to shallow tissue
  • Sits at the transition point between red and near-infrared light
  • Reaches slightly deeper than 660nm while still supporting collagen and fibroblast activity
  • Complements the 810–850nm range for layered, full-depth coverage
Intensity
30–90 mW/cm²
Session
8–15 min
Targets
Cytochrome c oxidase
15–30mm · deep tissue
  • Boosts ATP production well below the skin's surface
  • Supports muscle and joint repair at depth
  • Neuroprotective — used in brain and nerve-focused protocols
  • Helps bring down chronic inflammation
Intensity
40–100 mW/cm²
Session
10–20 min
Targets
Cytochrome c oxidase
20–35mm · deep tissue
  • Activates mitochondria slightly deeper than 810nm reaches
  • Supports vascular repair and cell proliferation
  • Strong hemoglobin absorption — helps oxygen reach tissue
Intensity
40–100 mW/cm²
Session
10–20 min
Targets
Cytochrome c oxidase, hemoglobin
25–40mm · deepest NIR
  • The deepest-reaching wavelength on the panel
  • Targets muscle, joints, and brain tissue at depth
  • Improves circulation and how efficiently cells use oxygen
  • Associated with chronic pain reduction in long-term use
Intensity
50–120 mW/cm²
Session
10–20 min
Targets
Cytochrome c oxidase
10–20mm · adipose tissue
  • Uses a thermal mechanism to target fat cells for body contouring
  • Supports local circulation and lymphatic flow
  • Mild tightening effect through controlled heat
  • Temperature-regulated — designed to stay under 45°C
Intensity
150–250 mW/cm²
Session
20–25 min
Targets
Lipids & water
